Hippest Hippo

Card Recipe

• Card Base Blushing Bride Cardstock 5 ½ x 8 scored at 4 ¼ Card is Portrait
• 1st Layer – Blackberry Bliss 4 ¼ x 5 ¼ – cut 2, 1 for the inside
• Top Layer – DSP 4 x 5 ¼ and ¼ x 4 for the inside
• Scrap of Basic White Cardstock for the sentiment & Hippo
• Scrap of Blushing Bride Cardstock for the umbrella and hearts

Directions

• Fold your Blushing Bride Cardstock Base in half at 4 ¼.
• Take your piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp the Hippo and the front sentiment and then stamp the inside sentiment layer
• Now color the Hippo with the Stampin blends markers.
• Now we’ll die cut things – Cut the Hippo. Use the Blushing Bride Cardstock and die cut the umbrella and hearts. Die cut the circle out of the Vellum and die cut the front sentiment using the banner die. Take the inside Blackberry Bliss layer, place the tub about ½ down from the top, centering it and then die cut the tub.
• Take the inside Sentiment layer and adhere the DSP ¼ x 4 towards to the bottom of the layer. Next adhere the sentiment layer to the Blackberry Bliss layer that you cut the tub from. Then adhere to the inside of the card. Adhere the small heart under the sentiment. The inside is done.
• Let’s assemble the card front
• a. Adhere DSP to Blackberry Bliss and then adhere them to the card front.
• b. Take the Hippo and the Vellum circle, center the Hippo on the circle and turn it over to see where to place the dimensionals so they are hidden from view. Adhere the vellum circle with the dimensionals. Next adhere the Hippo with Tombow glue.
• c. Place the tub upside down so it looks like the Hippo’s stage, placing it on top of the vellum and just touching her foot with dimensionals. Glue the large heart on the center of the tub.
• d. Place the sentiment close to the line on the tub using small dimensionals.
• e. Adhere the Umbrella with two dimensionals one on top of the other.
• f. Place Rhinestone on the front and finish with Wink of Stella on the ruffle of her outfit for some added sparkle.
